Emily Rea is a British-American artist (b. 1991, Bryn Mawr, PA), whose work explores memory, history, and cycles of doing and undoing, large and small, public and private through research-based sculpture, site-specific installations, and photography. She works with experimental media ranging from latex and pine rosin to whistling grass and soil; from her childhood sidewalk to national real estate listings. She received her BFA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, and has exhibited work in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Philadelphia. For the last three years Emily has worked as an instructor at the Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland where she also serves as Senior Designer for Creative Growth Magazine. Emily will shortly be returning to Philadelphia to begin her MFA at the University of Pennsylvania.
